Hello everyone, again it's been a while. Busy creating beautiful works of art. Here I have a lovely piece on age handmade paper. The painting is done in mix media in acrylic, pencil and inks. Love the contrast of the black acrylic with a touch of red. Loving the intensity of these two colors makes the piece vibrant and striking. Titled Little Frida

In my shop www.itsybitsyspill.etsy.com  you will see beautiful  new work including this sweet piece.

Till next time with more paintings to show.

New Art!

It is a very hot day indeed up in the 80s this morning. Okay here l have for you a piece done in acrylic on Canson watercolor paper. No pain, no art piece, thank you Philip Haxo and Mike Huston
Before I go into details about the painting I want to thank Philip and Mike for their inspiring words and support.
Roaming in the inside is Titled There is so much emotion in these portraits you can actually feel them. If you look closely into an individual 's face you can tell there are stories to be told, happiness, pain, the uncertainty, flirtation, peace, comfort, worry, depression, and ruminating thoughts while they stare into space in a crowed market and lets not forget love and anger. It's fascinating and beautiful because we are human. Why is it fascinating? To capture human emotion in a piece with color to evoke dark and yet beauty in a painting is a powerful thing. To portray such complexity on paper and feel it come to life enlightens me. When we channel ourselves into a piece we discover a lift as if shedding pieces of ourselves leaving you weightless and peaceful. You are communication with colors and strokes. And while we don't know when is happening sometimes it is a gift a tool to of letting go. So when you paint the ugly let it show itself because its also delivering it's beauty as well.
